Mom, the Everyday Athlete Health Resources

Facing the challenges of your diagnosis along with those of being a modern, multitasking mom can seem overwhelming. But you are not alone. Millions of moms struggle with heart disease, diabetes and obesity, three of the diseases that occur most often among women.

The Wheat Foods Council’s Mom, the Everyday Athlete program is designed to assist you in optimizing your health and wellness through good nutrition and exercise. Choosing appropriate foods and staying physically active are smart strategies for helping to manage the symptoms of your disease, such as high cholesterol, elevated blood sugar and/or excess body weight. The end result is a healthier outlook and lifestyle for you... and one that enables you to set a good example for your family.

Use the sample dietary plan and weekly grocery shopping list to help you make the best nutrition choices for your busy lifestyle. Learn about the role that grains play in a healthy diet, how they can fuel your "inner athlete," and how these nutritious foods can help you manage your disease.
