Autumn is widely regarded as runners’ favorite season. Colorful fall foliage, pleasant temperatures, and a wide assortment of races inspire many people to lace up their sneakers and hit the pavement.

If you’re among those preparing for an upcoming race, start your run on the right foot with healthful nutrition choices—including lots of wheat products.

Pasta with tomato sauce is a favorite go-to the night before a big race, thanks to its easy, quick preparation and abundance of carbohydrates. But don’t stop there—for breakfast, fuel up with an English muffin, bagel, or some toast.  Fluids are also important before, during, and after a run.
