Gluten-free frenzy: revealing the facts and myths behind the diet

EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) - Two words are popping up more and more in grocery stores around the country: gluten-free. But, is eating gluten-free foods just another diet option? 
"It's been kind of confusing," says Kathleen Brandt. “People really may jump to the diet not having a solid diagnosis first.” Brandt has been a registered dietician for more than 25 years. She worries that some people are just jumping on the gluten-free bandwagon without researching the facts.
“It's a really strict diet,” she says. “Any time you're getting rid of that much food in your diet, there's a risk of also eliminating a lot of other important nutrients.”  Read article
